Portraits of randoms.

I'm quite use to taking photos of people I dont know so this task was fairly easy, I was also lucky that these girls where very willing to have their photo taken, both where international students and both where very lovely and friendly and didnt mind me asking them to move to a better location for a background. I was also lucky when they asked me "do you want us to pose" then they both did "model" poses, it was great and all over in about 10 minuets.
I love these sorts of tasks, its good to get out and meet people.

Lighting portraits with tungsten

16/3/11

In this class we learned about tungsten lighting, our task was to create a portrait and correctly expose using only tungsten lights.

Shutter: 60s
F4.5
ISO:100

we took this photo using a tripod and only one tungsten light through a set of shutters to get the lined effect.

I also edited a copy to how I would normally edit a photo like this for my own work

2011

everything above this is 2011.

Group [4] Shoot "Glasses Get Girls"

Main Reading: 5.6
ISO: 200
Shadow: 2.8
Background: 4.8

I wanted it to be an image that suggested that by wearing glasses even the "nerdyest" of guys could get girls, I originally had a different shot I was going to use but when I came to printing I felt this one was more balanced.

Self Portrait Shoot

With this photo I only used saturation and curves to get my desired result. Its a bit dramatic and dark which are things that I like which is why this became my self portrait.
